Austin College is the second youngest college for on-campus living at University of New England Armidale. Upon opening in 1972, Austin and its residents have taken pride in being the most well-rounded College. From Academics and sporting to music and theatre- there's something for everyone.
Austin College participates in all inter-college competitions and are also the current sporting champions, having won both the President's Trophy (inter-college male sports competition) and Mary Bagnell Award (inter-college female sports competition) for 2013.
Additionally, Austin has many themed events throughout the year for its residents such as, LCR Party, Ball, Bierfest, and Barndance. These events are held within the college grounds providing a safe and fun night for everyone. Underage residents are able to attend these events upon purchasing a non-drinkers ticket. Other events include formal dinners such as parents weekend (an opportunity for family to come and visit and experience the Austin lifestyle for themselves), charities (whereby throughout the dinner, mini games are run to raise money for the selected charity), and Commencement and Valedicts.
